When I worked there, SanDisk specialized in Flash (solid state or non volatile memory technologies).

SanDisk started life as SunDisk. A legal tangle with Sun Microsystems compelled its founder Dr. Eli Harari, to change the company name to SanDisk, upon suggestion from his daughter - or so the story goes.

Reporting into the Engineering department. I worked contractually as a Product Engineer analyzing and fixing PCMCIA (Personal Computer Memory Card International Association) flash memory cards which customers had returned under RMA.

Responsibilities

  • Memory module failure analysis and yield enhancement through defect management.
  • System level troubleshooting of RMA-ed Flash EEPROM memory cards in a DOS environment.
